The day I picked up a copy of The Sympathizer was the day that the NY Times gave it a glowing review. So, yes, I was excited to have such a novel in my hands.
Very well written, intriguing plot. Adds to one's understanding of the VN War and the suffering of the Vietnamese people.
It's a story that has not been adequately told before, with clever jaunts into the past that gradually reveal the inner most folds of the main character.
