Someone in the Matthews family saved every letter, financial report, land transaction, and legal document for the past 150 years, and put most of them in this book. I grant that it's an interesting family, much involved in the development of the Missouri Bootheel, but all that detail wears thin quickly.

My mother came from this area and the names are familier which makes it more interesting. Some good things to be learned about growing wealth.
